MARINE PROTECTED AREAS: Everybody's Business. For the first time in the Mediterranean, the key players in various sectors involved in the marine environment will gather to share their experiences and develop a joint work program to advance the network of Marine Protected Areas in the Mediterranean. From the 21 riparian countries and beyond, representatives of national environmental agencies, fisheries, tourism and the economy, land managers, scientists, non-governmental organizations, regional partners and international as well as local economic actors exchange from their respective interests in the common goal of preserving marine biodiversity in the Mediterranean while contributing to local economies.
